INDIANAPOLIS – The current financial crisis has left many people unemployed for the first time — federal, state and local help is available, but not easy to access.

WRTV is extending its reputable Hiring Hoosiers initiative with the launch of The Rebound: Indiana. The new project provides a one-stop shop to help navigate through the financial impact COVID-19 has had on our communities.

“When we introduced our Hiring Hoosiers initiative in December 2018, we couldn’t have imagined how important connecting our viewers to resources and opportunities would become. If our virtual town hall provides benefit for one Hoosier, it will be a success,” said Lana Durban Scott, vice president and general manager at WRTV. “We are truly IN this together.”

WRTV held a virtual town hall on Wednesday, April 22 at 7:30 P.M. The event’s concentration is on helping Hoosiers find unemployment and economic stimulus resources.

You can watch the virtual town hall and find answers to frequently asked questions here.

The Rebound: Indiana Virtual Town Hall connected viewers to top officials from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. Participants include Fred Payne, Commissioner, Indiana Department of Workforce Development, Josh Richardson, Chief of Staff, Indiana Department of Workforce Development, and Regina Ashley, Chief Unemployment Insurance and Workforce Solutions Officer, Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

Through advocacy, assistance, accountability and investigation WRTV will help Hoosiers bounce back and recover.
