INDIANAPOLIS — Butler dominated the second half for a 77-55 win over St. John's at Hinkle Fieldhouse Wednesday.

The Bulldogs, who trailed by one at the half, outscored the Red Storm 46-23 in the second.

Butler now has a chance to close out the regular season with three straight wins if the Dogs can get past Xavier in Cincinnati Saturday. The team is now 21-9 and 9-8 in the Big East.

Butler senior Sean McDermott, playing his last game before the home crowd, had 16 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs.

Also saying goodbye Wednesday was Butler's live mascot Blue III, who officially retires at the end of the school year.
