WASHINGTON — Butler staged a second half comeback for a 69-64 win at Georgetown Tuesday.
The Bulldogs trailed by 11 at the half but were up by seven 10 minutes later. Then, with 1:29 left and the score tied, Butler scored the final five points of the game.
Sean McDermott had 25 points and eight rebounds for the Dogs who are now 17-4 overall and 5-3 in the Big East. After losing three straight games, Butler has won its last two.
The Bulldog defense was a key to the win. Butler held the Hoyas to 33% shooting.
Georgetown has lost three straight games and is 12-9 overall.
Butler is next in action Saturday at home against Providence.
