INDIANAPOLIS — The perfect start to Butler's season continued Saturday at Hinkle Fieldhouse with a 76-62 win over Florida.
It was the Bulldogs' third win this year against a team from the Southeastern Conference and improved Butler's record to 9-0.
The Bulldogs began to take charge late in the first half and were up by nine at halftime.
In the second half, Butler led by as many as 19 points before the Gators cut the margin to nine with 2:30 remaining.
The Bulldogs shot 52% for the game while holding Florida to 43%.
Sean McDermott and Aaron Thompson both had 16 points to lead Butler.
The Bulldogs came into the game ranked 24th in the nation and figure to move up in next week's rankings.
Butler has the nation's longest streak of consecutive non-conference home wins at 56.
Florida is now 6-3.
