INDIANAPOLIS — It was a perfect opening night of college basketball for Indiana, Purdue and Butler.
All three won their games.
Here are the results:
Final: Indiana 89, Tennessee Tech 59: The Hoosiers put this one away early at Assembly Hall in Bloomington.
Indiana had a 48-19 halftime lead, and coasted in the second half for a 30-point win.
Final: Purdue 77, Liberty 64: In Melbourne, Florida, Boilermaker freshman Zach Edey was a major contributor to Purdue's success, leading the team with with 19 points.
Purdue led at halftime 39-32 and kept Liberty at bay in the second half. The Boilermakers shot 58% while holding Liberty to 40%.
Final: Butler 66, Western Michigan 62: Butler led by six at the half and Western Michigan kept it close in the second half. The Broncos pulled to within three points with 47-seconds remaining, but the Bulldogs were able to pull out the win.
Senior Aaron Thompson led Butler with 21-points. Jair Bolden had 15-points and nine-rebounds.
Fans were were on hand for this game at Hinkle Fieldhouse. 1,500 tickets were available.
