INDIANAPOLIS—Colts coach Frank Reich hopes to know later this week whether quarterback Jacoby Brissett will be starting next Sunday when Jacksonville comes to town.
Brissett missed Sunday's game against Miami and more than half of the previous game in Pittsburgh with a knee sprain. The Colts lost both games.
"If Jacoby is healthy, he's our starting quarterback, he will go," Reich told reporters, Monday. "We are optimistic that the rest was helpful. We get to Wednesday, we'll see how he is doing. If he is practicing on Wednesday and taking full practice, you know at that point we'll say we're ready to go. He's our starter."
Reich says the Colts passing game needs help. Brian Hoyer threw for just 204 yards and was intercepted three times in the Colts loss to the Dolphins.
Indianapolis has lost two consecutive games and takes a 5-4 record into next Sunday's game at Lucas Oil Stadium. Jacksonville is 4-5.
