INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts have reportedly signed free agent quarterback Philip Rivers, according to media reports.
ESPN is reporting that the deal is for one year and $25 million. Rivers formerly played for the Los Angeles Chargers.
Rivers threw for 4,615 yards and 23 touchdowns last season with the Chargers.
Rivers has been with the Chargers, first in San Diego and then Los Angeles, since he was acquired in a 2004 draft-day trade with the New York Giants for Eli Manning. He has been the Chargers starting quarterback since the 2006 season. The team announced in February it did not plan to re-sign him.
