INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Donte Moncrief will be sidelined for four-to-six weeks with a fractured scapula.
Moncrief was injured during the first quarter of the Colts 34-20 loss to the Denver Broncos in Denver. He did not return to the game. The Colts announced his status Wednesday morning.
The Colts' No. 2 wide receiver had an excellent opening game, with six catches for 64 yards and a touchdown in a loss to the Lions, including a 32-yard reception downfield from Andrew Luck.
The Colts will likely resort to their tight ends more in Jack Doyle and Dwayne Allen to band-aid the loss in the passing attack, but either way it's a set back for a team that's already trying to climb out of a hole at 0-2 to start the year.
Phillip Dorsett and Quan Bray will need to step into the No. 2 role while Moncrief heals.
