INDIANAPOLIS — COVID is taking its toll on the Colts defense.
Wednesday, star defensive tackle DeForest Buckner was placed on the team's reserve/COVID-19 list. That means Buckner either tested positive for the virus or has been in close contact with a person who has.
The designation means Buckner's status is doubtful for Sunday's AFC South showdown with Tennessee at Lucas Oil Stadium. Both teams are 7-3.
Another defensive tackle, Denico Autry, is also on the reserve/COVID-19 list and his status for the Titan game is doubtful.
Buckner has been an important cog in the Indianapolis defense, currently ranked second in the NFL. He joined the Colts this season and has played in all 10 games. His statistics include an impressive 16 quarterback hits, to go along with one forced fumble and two sacks.
