INDIANAPOLIS -- There is uncertainty when, or IF, Andrew Luck returns this season, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, suggesting that Luck's lacerated kidney injury could possibly sideline him through the end of the year despite earlier optimism he would return soon.
Schefter tweeted Monday afternoon about Luck's situation, saying that doctors would determine if he was able to play in a critical division match-up this Sunday against the Houston Texans, which will decide first place in the AFC South with only two weeks left in the year.
The ESPN NFL Insider then tweeted that despite Colts owner Jim Irsay's comments that he could return in Week 15 or 16, Schefter says there is uncertainty if he'll even return at all.
As of last week, Colts were not optimistic Andrew Luck would be able to play Sunday vs. Houston; doctors will have their say this week.

Complicating Colts' QB situation, Matthew Hasselbeck was spotted leaving stadium on Sunday night with his left arm in a sling. Status shaky.

As Schefter also mentioned, Matt Hasselbeck was injured Sunday on a hit forcing him out of bounds, which led to Charlie Whitehurst taking over the position for the second time this season.
#Colts QB Matt Hasselbeck is sore today, I'm told, with upper body injuries. Tests ongoing, but belief is no fractures. All soft tissue

Head Coach Chuck Pagano said Monday he was "hopeful" Hasselbeck would be starting for the Colts on Sunday.
"He's banged up, like a lot of the guys, but he's a warrior," Pagano said.
