INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle will continue to play for his hometown team for a few more years.

The Indianapolis Colts announced Friday they signed Doyle to a three-year contract extension. NFL Network and NFL.com reporter Ian Rapoport tweeted Doyle's contract is worth $21 million with incentives that could push the deal to $24 million.

Doyle has 36 receptions for 377 yards and four touchdowns this season.

Doyle is in his seventh year in the NFL and was originally acquired off waivers Sept. 1, 2013. In 96 career games, he has caught 236 passes for 2,105 yards and 18 touchdowns.

An Indianapolis native and Cathedral High School graduate, Doyle played on the Fighting Irish's 2006 Class 4A football state championship team.
