Former Indy basketball standout shines in China

Posted

Former Lawrence North basketball star and NBA player Greg Oden had a stellar debut in his first game for a Chinese basketball team.

Oden scored 19 points, grabbed 24 rebound, and blocked four shots with the Jiangsu Dragons, via Bleacher Report.

He was drafted No. 1 overall -- one spot ahead of Kevin Durant -- in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Portland Trailblazers. He played two seasons for the Trailblazers, struggling with injuries during his tenure.

After three years out of the league, Oden was signed by the Miami Heat for the 2013-14 season. He played in 23 games that season.
