WEST LAFAYETTE — Purdue football fans got some very good news Thursday.

Rondale Moore, the receiver who earned All-American honors in 2018, will play for the Boilermakers this season.

In August, with pandemic-related question marks surrounding the Big Ten football season, Moore said he would not play—instead concentrating on preparations for the 2021 NFL Draft.

Now that the conference has settled on a nine-game season that will begin in October, Moore wants back in.

As a freshman in 2018, Moore totaled 1,258 receiving yards for the Boilermakers. Last year, injuries limited him to just four games.

Moore made his announcement Thursday on ESPN. "For me, I think the whole decision behind me opting out was the uncertainty and to secure my safety and my mother's safety," he said. More indicated he now has confidence in the Big Ten's plan to hold a football season that will last from October to near Christmas.
