INDIANAPOLIS -- After a five-hour delay because of rain, day one of the Indianapolis 500 qualifications were finally able to begin.
Rains moved into the area just before Indy 500 qualifying was set to begin at 11 a.m.
Track dryers spent nearly two hours drying the track and qualifying rounds were able to begin at 4 p.m.
