CHICAGO, Ill. -- As part of his victory tour, Alexander Rossi threw out the first pitch at the Chicago Cubs' game Thursday evening.
Rossi, a rookie from California, won the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 last year by stretching his fuel just a bit longer than the leaders in the final laps. He ran out just short of pit road as he completed his victory lap.
The 25-year-old received his championship ring at a ceremony on Wednesday.
The 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 will be Sunday, May 28 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
