SPEEDWAY — On a much better weather day than what they endured Sunday, Indy 500 drivers gathered for the track's traditional front row photo shoot, Monday.
Pole-sitter Simon Pagenaud was there with his Penske teammates.
He qualified at 229.992 miles-per-hour.
Team Penske has claimed the pole at Indianapolis a record 18 times.
Ed Carpenter, no stranger to the front row, was in the middle.
He made the starting field at 229.889 miles-per-hour.
Carpenter's teammate, Spencer Pigot is in the third spot, after a 229.826 miles-per-hour qualification run.
The Ed Carpenter Racing team also has the fourth fastest qualifier, Ed jones.
Drivers in the 33 car starting field all qualified at between 229 and 227 miles-per-hour, the tightest field in race history.
