INDIANAPOLIS -- Josef Newgarden hit the wall in Turn 2 during Indy 500 practice Thursday.
Newgarden hit the wall hard coming out of Turn 1, but he did leave the car under his own power.
He wasn't hurt, but he was visibly shaken as the track safety crew responded.
Newgarden drives the No. 2 hum by Verizon Chevrolet for Team Penske.
The Nashville-native finished third in last year's Indy 500.
