Posted

INDIANAPOLIS – Dozens of veterans and their families gathered at the Indiana War Memorial to acknowledge the sacrifice made by the men and women in the military.

The 500 Festival Memorial Service included color guard presentations and musical performances.

Navy veteran Charles Greer, 89, was awarded a front row seat during the ceremony.

“He wasn't recognized at the time because it was segregated,” said Greer’s daughter, Alisha James. “Today is an important day for him.”
