INDIANAPOLIS -- The race to renew your tickets for the 2017 officially began at midnight.

The marketing team at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is hoping to build on the sell-out success of the 100th running. If fans leaving the race didn't hear the ads over the loudspeakers, there was a digital billboard to remind them posted on Fall Creek Parkway by the Fairgrounds.

"People have the opportunity to renew tickets and secure their same tickets for 500 hours from midnight last night," said IMS Senior Vice President of Events Allison Melangton. "We are hoping people take that opportunity and we'll have a good idea how many people renewed their tickets, and then what marketing strategies we'll need going forward."
