INDIANAPOLIS -- Josef Newgarden will start at P2 for Sunday's Indy 500 for his first front-row start in Indianapolis.
Newgarden hit a speed of 231.551 mph, the only driver to go above 230 mph in qualifying on May 22.
He finished with an average of 230.700.
"It's an amazing thing," he said. "I grew up racing go-karts here in Indiana and New Castle. To get a shot to do this -- this is going to be my fifth Indy 500 -- is crazy cool."
