ORLANDO — Pacer big man Domantas Sabonis has left the team in Orlando to seek medical treatment for a foot ailment.

It's not clear how long Sabonis, who leads the Pacers in rebounding and is a close second in scoring, will miss action. He did not play in the team's first exhibition game Thursday.

Sabonis is suffering from plantar fasciitis, a foot inflammation.

The Pacers, along with 21 other NBA teams, are in Orlando preparing to resume the season that was suspended in March because of the pandemic. Indiana's first game is August 1.

Sabonis has played in 62 of the Pacers 65 games this season, averaging 18-points and 12-rebounds.
