INDIANAPOLIS -- We all knew Paul George's days as a Pacer were limited, but that didn't make Friday's announcement about his trade to the Oklahoma City Thunder any less shocking.
The trade will send George to the league's smallest market. In return, the Pacers get former Indiana University star Victor Oladipo and rookie Domantas Sabonis.
Hours after being traded, George sent out a thank you to Indiana Pacers fans over Instagram.
"I can go on and on with pics and comments but INDIANA.. THANK YOU for all that you've been for my family and I!"
George played seven seasons with the Pacers before announcing last month that he intended to become a free agent after the upcoming season. He also hinted that he was interested in signing with the Los Angeles Lakers during that time.
Following his heartfelt thanks to Pacers fans, George posted another short message looking towards his future with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
