BLOOMINGTON — IU freshman basketball player Romeo Langford will declare for the 2019 NBA draft, ESPN reported Thursday.

Langford led the Hoosiers in his only season by averaging 16.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game while earning All-Big Ten second-team honors.

He also told ESPN he is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair a thumb ligament he tore in a November practice.

The NBA draft will be held June 20.
