The ancient Chinese therapy of "cupping" has found itself in the spotlight this week after Olympian Michael Phelps was seen was circular bruises during the Summer Games in Rio.

The technique, which is said to help athletes heal faster and relieve tension in their muscles, leaves visible bruises for several days afterwards.
