Mother Nature can dress up as some pretty terrifying things — severe thunderstorms, hurricanes, blizzards and sometimes geomagnetic storms.

And while a dark and stormy night is usually the beginning of a good scary story, most of the frightening storms in the video above turned Halloween into an event where everyone stayed inside.

Of course, this list isn't complete, Mother Nature has gotten into the spirit more than five times, like the time flood waters washed away entire pumpkin crops.
