At least one person is dead following a reported shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego.
The San Diego Police Department said on X that “the threat at the Islamic Center has been neutralized.”
Authorities have not officially confirmed the number of victims.
Video from the scene showed people, including children, being evacuated from the building as heavily armed officers secured the area.
The mayor of San Diego thanked law enforcement who "responded quickly to protect lives and secure the area," adding that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
