TIPTON, Ind. -- As severe storms blew through most of central Indiana on Friday they left behind flooded roads and downed trees in several counties.

Many areas were still dealing with flooding issues from the rain that fell earlier this week which became worse with Friday's storms.

As of 6 p.m., Duke Energy was reporting over 11,000 customers without power. Indianapolis Power and Lights had almost 1,000 outages.

U.S. 31 in Tipton County had to be shut down completely because of flooding between SR 28 and CR 600 S. The sheriff said the road will be closed until the water recedes.

In Noblesville, rescue crews had to shut down Carrigan Road between Schulley and Little Chicago roads because of weather damage, including downed trees, power lines and water on the roadway.

Madison County Highway Department was dealing with flooding across the county including Fall Creek and Prairie Creek. Law enforcement has asked residents to stay home and avoid driving unless its an emergency while they clean up the damage.
