Soggy stretch of weather on the way

For many of us, dry days have been a nice break in what has been a very wet spring. Indy has only measured more than a tenth of an inch of rain two days this month. It's about time to get the umbrella back out though!

A few showers are possible before the week is over, but the daily chance for rain and storms returns this weekend and will last through next week.

Although it won't rain all day every day, those chances could really start to add up in your backyard rain gauge. Computer models suggest 1-3" of rain is possible by the middle of next week (June 19th). Of course, some higher amounts are possible where storms move over the same spots.

June is typically our wettest month with an average rainfall of just over 5". This swing back into an active pattern might be something we have to get used to. The outlook calls for above average rainfall through the end of the month!

Remember to never drive through flooded roads. You never know how deep the water could be, or what impact the water has had on structure of the roadway.
