INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis will remain under a travel advisory through Wednesday morning after a winter storm dumped more than a half-foot of snow on Central Indiana.
Restrictions will be in place until at least 6 a.m. Wednesday, and city leaders said Indianapolis residents should travel only if absolutely necessary to allow Department of Public Works plows to have full access to remove snow from roads.
"While roads are technically passable, this is not the time for unnecessary trips," IMPD Emergency Management Bureau Commander Tom Sellas said in a news release. "For your safety, and the safety of others who must be on roadways, please consider staying at home--teleworking if possible — while plow crews continue to clear roadways."
All of Indiana's 92 counties have issued travel advisories, watches or warnings.
