BROOKVILLE — Two men are dead after a mobile home fire early Wednesday morning in Franklin County, according to the state fire marshal's office.

The fire was reported around 1:45 a.m. in the 4200 block of Riley Pike, just outside of Brookville. A 39-year-old man said he woke up to smoke in the home and a fire on an outside porch.

Two men, a 57-year-old and a 50-year-old, were found during a search of the debris, according to the Indiana State Fire Marshal. The Franklin County Coroner's Office is working to confirm their identities.

Crews were able to determine the only source of heat in the mobile home was a wood-burning stove.

The man who reported the fire was able to safely get out of the mobile home and was treated at the scene by medical personnel.

Foul play is not suspected at this time.

The incident remains under investigation.
