Indy named No. 2 city in country for jobs

INDIANAPOLIS -- If you're not first ... well, you're No. 2. 

Indianapolis was recently named the No. 2 city in the United States for jobs by Glassdoor, a company and management site.

Indy was just beaten out by Pittsburgh for the No. 1. spot. 

According to the rankings, Indianapolis has 80,000 job openings, with a median base salary of $43,000. Indianapolis' top jobs are DevOps Engineers, Marketing managers and machine operators.

The rest of the top 10 cities are: 

  1. Pittsburgh
  2. Indianapolis
  3. Kansas City, Missouri
  4. Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina
  5. St. Louis
  6. Memphis, Tennessee
  7. Columbus, Ohio
  8. Cincinnati
  9. Cleveland
  10. Louisville, Kentucky
