It's spooky season, but if traditional trick-or-treating on Halloween night isn't for you, many places are offering truck-or-treat or other Halloween events.

Boone County:

Whitestown Parks and Recreation is having a family-friendly trick-or-treating event at Anson Acres Park, located at 4671 Anson Boulevard, on October 30 from 4-8 p.m. The event will feature candy, a bonfire and more. For more information, click here.

Delaware County:

The Muncie Police and Fire Departments will have candy, hot dogs and cotton candy at a trunk or treat event October 31 from 5-8 p.m. at the police department, located at 300 North High Street.

Hamilton County:

Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation (CCPR) will host a sensory friendly trick-or-treat walk on October 23 from 1 – 3 p.m. along the Central Park East trails. There will be no loud music, scary decorations or people dressed in masks or full-body costumes. Organizers request all trick-or-treaters bring their own bag or basket for candy and wear friendly costumes that are not frightening. Pre registration is required and can be done online or in person at the Monon Community Center, located at 1195 Central Park Drive West.

The Westfield police and fire departments will host the second annual Boo Drive Thru in the Oak Trace Elementary (16504 Oak Ridge Road) parking lot from 5-7 p.m. on October 30. Police officers and firefighters will be dressed up and passing out treats to cars as they drive through the parking lot. Families are encouraged to dress up and join the fun.

The Indiana Wellness College, located at 10585 North Meridian Street, Suite 102 in Carmel, is hosting a trunk or treat from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on October 30. Massage therapy and esthetics students will offer free chair massages, facial skin analysis, and hand/arm massages for any attendee.

Hendricks County:

Avon Police will have a free trunk-or-treat during the third annual Witches' Ride on October 23 from 4-7 p.m. at the Avon Town Hall Park.

The Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield is hosting a drive thru trunk or treat on October 28 from 5-7 p.m. It is located at 5402 South County Road 700 East. The event page is located here.

The Brownsburg Police Department is hosting trunk or treat with an officer on October 31 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the police department, located at 31 North Green Street.

Johnson County:

Greenwood is hosting a Monster Mash with trick or treating, a hayride, music, food and more. The event is scheduled for October 22 from 6-8:30 p.m. at Craig Park. More information and an event map is available here.

Greenwood's second annual Halloween Parade will happen at 5 p.m. on October 30. A map of the parade route is below.

The Autism Community Connection is hosting their trunk-or-treat on Saturday, Oct. 23 from 10 a.m. to noon in the New Hope Church parking lot in Greenwood. More information is available here.

The Johnson County Public Library in Franklin is hosting trick-your-trunk and trick or treat at the library from 5-7 p.m. on October 23. More information is available here.

Marion County:

Indianapolis Animal Care Services will have a trunk or treat on October 30 from 5-8 p.m. at 2600 South Harding Street. The event is free and open to all ages. Attendees are encouraged to come in costume and can view adoptable animals until 6 p.m.

The Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center is holding a Safe Night Halloween from 5-7 p.m. on October 31 on the northside of the Fairgrounds at Celebration Park. Vehicles will be outside in a trunk or treat The event is open to kids 12 and under who are accompanied by an adult. Parking and admission are free. More information is available here.

The Wayne Township Fire Departmentis hosting a drive thru candy giveaway event on October 31 from 6-8 p.m. Free carbon monoxide alarms will also be given away. The event will happen at the headquarters building, located at 700 North High School Road.

The Decatur Township Fire Department is having Safe Halloween trick-or-treating at the firehouse on October 31 from 5-8 p.m. The event is happening at Station 71, located at 5410 South High School Road.

Speedway Parks and Recreation is having a Trunk or Treat event on October 30 from 5-6:30 p.m. at Speedway High School.

The Speedway High School Music Department is hosting the "Speedway Spooktacular" on October 25 from 6:30-8:30 at Speedway High School. The event will feature games, prizes and concessions and costs $5 per child. Masks are required for anyone over age 2.

Indy Parks events:

  • Trunk or Treat, October 22 from 5-7 p.m. at Frederick Douglass Park. The event will feature candy, games and prizes at Frederick Douglass Park, 1616 East 25th Street. For more information, click here. Masks and social distancing are required.

Madison County:

Anderson Police and Mayor Thomas Broderick Jr. are hosting trunk or treat on October 29 from 6-8 p.m. Due to weather, the event will be held in the parking garage located at the corner of 11th and Meridian Street. More information is available here.

Rosenthal Orthodontics is having a trunk or treat on October 21 from 6-8 p.m. It is located at 6535 South State Road 67, Suite 100 in Pendleton.

Also in Pendleton, there will be a Falls Park Boo Bash on October 23 from 4-8 p.m. with a hayride and other fall events. More information is available here.
