INDIANAPOLIS -- One man is in custody after he fired at two Indianapolis officers Wednesday night, police said.
Around 11 p.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were near the intersection of 35th Street and Riley Avenue for a drug investigation. They were sitting in an unmarked police car when somebody fired shots at them.
The officers weren't injured. Police say the person who shot ran and got into a car near the intersection once he realized they were police officers.
The suspect was chased to the 3500 block of Euclid Avenue. K-9 officers found him hiding nearby and he was taken into custody.
The 21-year-old suspect has an outstanding warrant for dealing cocaine and possession of a handgun, police say.
A SWAT team was also dispatched to the area, trying to get a search warrant for a known "drug house."
This is the second time in one week IMPD officers have been shot at.
On April 28, three people were arrested after shooting at officers during a chase.
