PLAINFIELD, Ind. -- A Plainfield correctional officer was arrested on drug charges Monday evening.
Joshua M. Kirk was arrested on the following charges:
- Attempted trafficking with an offender
- Dealing in synthetic marijuana
- Dealing in methamphetamine
The investigation revealed Kirk was trafficking drugs and tobacco into the Plainfield Correctional Facility at 727 Moon Road.
Kirk admitted to the facility's Investigation and Intelligence Division that he had brought in the drugs.
The staff searched him, finding one gram of Methamphetamine. They also found more than 80 grams of K2 Spice and a pound of loose tobacco.
Kirk was taken to the Hendricks County Jail for processing.
“I would like to extend my appreciation to our investigative staff for their work surrounding this arrest; their efforts help keep our staff and facility safe," Plainfield Correctional Facility Superintendent Stanley Knight said. "I would also like to emphasize we remain committed to seeking prosecution against anyone who attempts to compromise the safety and security of our facility by any means.”
