INDIANAPOLIS -- No one was injured after an officer fired at a suspect during an investigation on Indianapolis' north side Monday afternoon.

Officers were called to an apartment complex in the 3300 block of N. Meridian Street twice Monday afternoon for a domestic disturbance.

Police did not get an answer at the door during the first call around 12:30 p.m. They were met by an armed man with when officers were called to the same address around 1:30 p.m.

Police say the suspect, Leandre Walker-Kayzer, 24, took a 'shooting stance' towards officers. One of them fired at Kayzer;  the bullet went through his shirt and but did not hit him.

Kayzer was arrested on an active warrant. Additional charges may be filed.

The officer who fired at Kayzer is a 15-year veteran of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. He will be placed on administrative leave as is standard procedure with any officer-involved shooting.

The incident remains under investigation.
