INDIANAPOLIS -- One person was shot Monday afternoon in what police are calling a case of road rage.
The shooting happened around 12:30 p.m. near the intersection of 23rd Street and Fall Creek Parkway.
Police say a truck and a van somehow made contact while they were driving on I-65. Both drivers pulled off on 21st Street and onto W. Fall Creek Parkway North drive.
Two witnesses inside the truck said a man inside the van walked over and shot the driver of the truck. The two passengers were not injured.
Another driver witnessed part of the exchange and stopped to help. They were not injured.
The driver of the truck was taken to Methodist hospital in serious condition.
Witnesses told police that the suspect was driving a dark colored van, possibly dark gray, with a body type similar to an Astro van like the one pictured below. Police are not sure of the exact make and model.
