INDIANAPOLIS — In preparation for their busy season, UPS announced Monday they would be hiring more than 800 people in the Indianapolis area for the holidays.
The company says they are working to fill around 100,000 seasonal jobs across the country throughout the holiday season.
The positions available in the Indianapolis area are a combination of seasonal and permanent jobs and include:
- 480 package handlers
- 120 person vehicle drivers
- 141 package & feeders drivers
- 90 + driver-helpers
A seasonal job with UPS could also lead to long-term employment. UPS says 35% of people they have hired in teh past four years for seasonal package handler jobs have stayed with the company on a permanent basis after the holidays.
