INDIANAPOLIS -- Three people were shot, one fatally, in two separate shootings early Wednesday morning.

The first shooting happened just after midnight on E. 32nd Street, near Sherman Drive. Police say a man in his 40s was walking home from a food mart when somebody walked up to him and shot him.

He was taken to Eskenazi Health in serious condition. There are no suspects at this time, police say.

The second shooting happened near the intersection of 19th Street and Wallace Avenue, about three hours later.

Two people were shot in the area and both were taken to Eskenazi. One victim, later identified as Clifford Brown Jr., 33, died at the hospital. The other, Carl Stevenson, 38, is in stable condition. Stevenson was suffering from a graze wound, police said.
