INDIANAPOLIS -- Two people were hospitalized Tuesday morning in a house fire on Indianapolis east side.
The fire started around 5:30 a.m., at a house in the 700 block of N. Gibson Avenue.
Firefighters rescued a 75-year-old wheelchair bound woman who told them that she dropped a lit cigarette on the floor and it caught nearby combustibles on fire.
Her 95-year-old father was able to get out of the house on his own before firefighters arrived.
The fire was under control by 6:30 a.m.

The fire caused about $60,000 in damage. No firefighters were injured.
Fire officials say this was the second time in a week that they responded to the home for a possible fire.
On December 9, they found smoldering paper from dropped ashes but no visible fire.
