INDIANAPOLIS -- Firefighters battled the heat and humidity as they fought a fire Friday morning on the city's north side.
The fire broke out shortly before 10 a.m. at a house in the 6700 block of N. Meridian in Meridian Hills.
A family of four lives in the home but they were not there at the time.
Firefighters did rescue a cat and two dogs from the house.
Damage is estimated at $300,000.
