77-year-old man stabbed in home on south side

INDIANAPOLIS -- A 77-year-old man was stabbed inside his south side home Tuesday evening. 

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department say the stabbing happened around 5 p.m., in a house in the 1500 block of East Raymond Street, near the I-65/Raymond Street exit.

Emergency crews took the man to the hospital in critical condition. He was rushed into surgery.

Detectives spent a part of the evening at the house interviewing potential witnesses.

Police do not have a suspect in custody.
