JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. -- An acid spill closed State Road 144 in Johnson County Wednesday morning, but it has re-opened.

According to the Bargersville, Indiana fire chief, a semi was carrying a load of chemicals in drums. One of the drums had phosphoric acid in it. The drum started leaking on State Road 144 west of State Road 37. The acid spilled onto the road and into an embankment.

Hazmat crews were trying to soak up the leaked acid before it gets absorbed into the ground. Nobody was hurt.

State Road 144 was closed west of State Road 37, but it has since reopened.
