BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Police at Indiana University are asking the public for help in finding a suspect in an armed robbery that happened early Tuesday morning.

IU released an alert around 12:30 a.m., saying a robbery was reported near Dunn Woods.

The robbery happened around midnight.

The victim, a male student at IU, told police he was listening to music on a bench in the woods. He said he saw a man pass by him, then he was grabbed from behind and a metal object was placed against his head.

The victim didn't see the weapon, but thought it was a handgun.

The robber took a cell phone and a wallet from the victim. The suspect is described as a black man, about 5-foot-9, 175 pounds, late 20s to early 30s and was wearing a blue hooded jacket. The victim heard the robber talking, so there may have been more than one suspect.

Around 1:30 a.m., IU released another alert, saying the threat is no longer imminent. The university recommends students resume their normal routines, but remain vigilant.

The victim was not injured.
