MUNCIE, Ind. -- Pokemon Go is taking the country by storm, and one local animal shelter is trying to take advantage by giving its dogs a walk -- courtesy of the people using the app.
The Muncie Animal Shelter on Gharkey Street posted a new promotion on Facebook Tuesday. Anybody playing the game can stop by and pick up a dog to walk while hunting down Pokemon.
"Just come to the front desk and say you are here for the Pokemon dogs!" the post reads. The animal shelter gets its dogs walked, the Pokemon Go players get to hang out with dogs while they play.
The post has photos of a Growlithe, a dog-like Pokemon, and a Cubone on it.
Cubone's relationship to an animal shelter is actually a little depressing if you know the backstory. Cubone is an orphaned Pokemon, who wears the skull of its dead mother on its head.
The post is gaining popularity, even nationally on Redditand Time.com.
