Apparently Indy's most hipster neighborhood is ... North Square?

Posted

INDIANAPOLIS -- Have you heard of North Square Neighborhood? Neither had we.

Apparently, it's pretty popular among hipsters. Buzzfeed said it was the most hipster place in the state, citing an app designed to locate such a neighborhood.

According to Google Maps, the neighborhood does exist. The map shows it's located from Virginia Avenue, to Calvary Street, to Fletcher Avenue, to Shelby Street.

That would put it right between the Fletcher Place and Fountain Square neighborhoods. But the two businesses named in the Buzzfeed article, Bluebeard and Game Paradise, aren't even in that zone listed by Google Maps. Game Paradise is in Fountain Square, while Bluebeard is in Fletcher Place.

If you want to combine them into one super-hipster neighborhood, come up with a better name than "North Square Neighborhood."

But hey. It's a list for hipsters, so maybe the neighborhood is so under-the-radar nobody knows about it yet.
