BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- An armed robbery was committed Friday morning near the campus of Indiana University.
The robbery happened around 4 a.m., near the Kilroy's Bar & Grill on Kirkwood Avenue. The victim told police he was walking in an alley when the suspect approached him, pushed him to the ground and placed a metal object against the back of his head.
The victim didn't see what the object was, but he believed it was a gun. The suspect got away with cash and a cell phone.
Police are searching for a suspect who was headed toward campus from Kilroys Bar & Grills on Kirkwood Avenue, according to IU's emergency updates Facebook page.
About 15 minutes after the initial post, IU posted an update, saying the investigation is ongoing, but the threat is no longer imminent.
Police haven't found the suspect.
