CARROLL COUNTY, ind. -- Those in Carroll County who live along the Tippecanoe River have been asked to evacuate after a flood emergency was issued.
Indiana DNR officials have been going door-to-door along the river, advising residents of the situation. The evacuation is not mandatory.
Sheriff Tobe H. Leazenby said the response has been what was expected -- some taking the advice and others choosing to stay put.
Leazenby said most residents have family or friends they can stay with.
He said the output from the Oakdale Dam is between 26,000 and 27,000 gallons per second, well above the average output.
