Cash, drugs, vehicles seized by Indianapolis police in 'Word of Mouf' search

INDIANAPOLIS -- Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department seized more than $3,000 and 600 grams of marijuana Tuesday in an arrest at a barbershop on Indianapolis' west side.

Police say an investigation revealed drugs were being sold out of "Word of Mouf" barbershop located at 3851 N. Kevin Way. Around 2 p.m., narcotics and vice detectives obtained a search warrant and arrested three people in the business.

The people arrested are:

  • Dorian Benefield, 31
  • Najee Jackson, 25
  • Jonte Ford, 34

Detectives also seized $3,278 in cash, 667 grams of marijuana and two vehicles.

All three people were charged with possession of narcotics and maintaining a common nuisance. Ford was also charged with dealing narcotics.
