Cell phone charger causes fire at North Central High School

INDIANAPOLIS -- Nobody was hurt Wednesday morning when a student's phone charger caused a fire at an Indianapolis high school.

According to a spokesperson for North Central High School, a cell phone charger overheated and began to smolder inside a student's backpack in a classroom. 

Nobody was hurt and class was back to normal by 9 a.m.

The classroom where the fire occurred is closed for professional cleaning.
