INDIANAPOLIS -- One person was arrested Wednesday morning when a vacant house with a meth lab caught fire next door to an elementary school.
The fire started around 5 a.m., when somebody in the neighborhood saw smoke coming out of a house on the 5400 block of W. 56th Street, across the street from Snacks Crossing Elementary School.
When police and fire crews arrived, three people ran out the back door, an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officer said.
Once inside the house, a meth lab was found on the table, but it had not been started.
One suspect was arrested, the other two got away.
